They were very good. I have nothing but positive things to say about them. The problem it's my rental property and my daughter actually lived in it. It is difficult for her to schedule time so I have to say that we were making it difficult for them to come out and he was very good about it. I mean he worked around our schedule, I have to say he was very good about it. They were very accommodating. I realized that they weren't sitting around with their feet up on the desk smoking cigar and taking coffee wondering when I was going to call them. There was one problem. For some reason one of the doors on the cabinets didn't close properly and there was a little bit of a gap there. He told me if there was anything wrong that he would come back and fix it but he never really got around to it and I had put the house on the market and it sold within a few weeks, so there was no point to him coming back after that. Warren really knows his stuff and I would easily hire him again. Especially for those tasks that require some specialized knowledge. Coming from a building background, I knew that the installation of our dog door was going to be a bit tricky and I did not have all the necessary tools to accomplish the job on my own. This was not one of those easy through the door dog doors - done some of those in the past. I felt the bid was very fair and I liked the fact that Warren, from the get go, gave me the feeling that he was the right person for the job. Everything went as I had hoped. Thank you Warren and Joe. We had quite a few unexpected setbacks in our bathroom remodel and a friend said to me, "So I guess you wouldn't use your contractor again?"  I replied, "Actually, quite the opposite."  Hawley Construction was a GREAT contractor to work with and I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

The measure of a contractor is how they react when problems arise.  Hawley Construction identified problems before I saw them, and tirelessly worked to resolve them.  They treated me fairly and their staff (particularly their project manager) were incredibly patient and helpful.  In terms of their work product, the bathroom came out looking like a million bucks!  Their cabinet work, in particular, was top notch.

The process of renovating can be brutal!  Assuming that problems may arise, it's important to be able to trust your contractor.  Hawley Construction has integrity.  I was glad to have them handle my remodel.

I am a local contractor in Napa California for 25 years in business and 15+ with other contractors in Northern California. One of my best clients lost their home just after three years of renovation to the fire of 2017. They chose to rebuild. I was asked to rebuild their dream house of 5100 s/f and I agreed if I could hire the right people I needed to get us out of the ground and through the frame. After the fire the search was on for good, qualified, insured and bonded contractors which was not easy. Between my concrete construction contractor and Warran Hawley construction, who framed the new house, this dream may not have happened. Warran Hawley and Sons were a fantastic company to work and deal with through the entire framing process. I was truly blessed with Warren Hawley and Sons and would highly recommend them to any one for framing or ground up projects as they handle all aspects of quality home building. I paid them extra because the work took longer than the 1 hour of the Big Deal. They put together a bookshelf and a desk. I had the wrong pieces so they had to go back to the store, return what I bought and get the right pieces. Then they came back and put it together. Then he switched out one of my light fixtures. Then he fixed my dog run gates.  I liked that he went and did the work for me. Most places would say, well, I can't finish the job because I didn't have the right equipment. I am extremely happy with my new shower.  The original tub/shower combo was difficult to use and I felt unsafe getting in and out of it.  I wanted a fully accessible shower that I could feel safe using and that's exactly what I got!

The new shower is easy to use.  It has safety bars so I feel confident getting in and out of it.  The shower walls are easy to clean and seem to be mold resistant.  I used to dread using the old shower and worried that I would fall.  Now I can enjoy my new shower because I feel safe using it.

I really appreciate the quality of the job that Manuel and Lalo did removing the old tub/shower and installing the new shower.  They arrived on time and did the work planned for the day.  They did a great job!

Walter painted the new shower area and it looks better than I hoped it would!  Great job Walter!

The Project manager, Andrew Aguilar, kept me well informed about the project and what was planned for the next day.  He estimated that it would take two weeks to complete the shower conversion and met that target.  In fact, the only item that delayed the project was the building inspector reviewing the plan and approving the permit.  I really appreciate him keeping the project on time and within the budget!

It went terribly. I purchased an 8 hour deal for $545 her at Angie's List. I had never had any contact with the provider before. I was told that I would be contacted within 2 days and was not. The email correspondance was poor. I had to complain to Angie's List that no one was following up with my emails. Then my email was finally returned. Warren was certainly not the friendliest, but the smaller projects were done first OK. He did not want to do work on putting my new basketball hoop to replace the broken old one in the heat, so we resecheduled. His assistant did most of the work trying to put up the old hoop, and had a lot of trouble doing it. He could not figure it out. I was helping him lift it up his ladder trying to attach it while he was on the roof, but he could not get it to work. Toward the end, the ladder gave out under me and I fell. Fortuneatly, I grabbed onto my rain gutter, so I did not get hurt. He finally put the backboard and rim together, and then waited for Warrent to return to put it up. The frame on the roof for the backboard was already there, excepty for two new 2x4s to raise the height a few inches. He then started to put it in 3 inches too high, when basketball hoops are, of course, at 10 feet.. I don't know how a professional can miss by that much. Anyway, the orignal backboard and hoop that was put up took the previousl handyman I used (who I wish was available for this) took less than 2 hours, including creating the entire frame. Warren and his assistant took well over 5 hours to put it up, incuding 2 extra hours over the 8 I already paid. Which means, I'm supposed to pay them an extra $130. So the installation cost much more than the hoop and backboard itself. Needless to say, I was very upset when I got the bill. First of all, why does it take a professional 5 hours to put up a basketball hoop onto an already existing frame, except for a small adjestment. Besides, his assistant, who was perfectly nice, did not know what he was doing. He could not figure it out, which of course, ate up a lot of time, in addition to installing it way too high first. I tried calling the company to talk about this, and see if something could be worked out. I spoke to Warren, who was extremely rude and condescending. I suppose I will have to pay the bill, but I am very angry about it. I will never use this company again, nor do I recommend anyone use them ever. This was very dishonest. We needed our water damaged sub-floor in three rooms repaired before the new floor could be  installed. It had to coordinated with the installer’s schedule. Warren Hawley manages time well since he has bigger, more profitable jobs going on at the same time, yet he was willing to do a relatively small job in a rural area. Many contractors can’t be bothered but was necessary for us.

The carpenters were on time, respectful of our property and cleaned up each day. They were careful to keep gates closed for the safety of the dogs which is a must.

The job was completed in two days, under budget and perfectly done. We have several bigger, exterior jobs planned for better weather and will be calling them again.

Hawley & Sons completed dry rot repairs and then repainted our home in May 2024.  A year later he came back and inspected the paint job for any fixes needed, and then his employee did a great job scraping, sealing and painting a few areas for repair. Had extensive dry rot on exterior of my home. Once dry rot trim was removed, additional damaged areas were discovered. They explained the process and the additional areas that need replacement. Each day, I would receive a written update and discussion so that I would be aware of everything ahead of time. They had to create some custom trim to match existing style. Once all rotted trim and boards were replaced, they painted all exterior trim and replaced boards. Everything blended perfectly. Workers kept everything cleaned up before leaving each day. Unforeseen: fireplace rattling/resonating when home theater is in use. Warren modified fireplace (added brackets, dampening materials, etc.) to make sure it doesn't make any noise. To say the least: that was not easy! Exceptionally good with masking/protecting the room, our kitchen and family room share same space, kitchen had no dust whatsoever! We were very pleased using Hawley Construction as our construction partner to remodel our hall bathroom.  From initial discussion of the scope of the project to tying up loose ends and ensuring all final details had been addressed, Andrew guided the process expertly and was a wonderful project manager to work with, managing the schedule, keeping us informed and checking the work details.  Navigating the construction process can be intimidating and daunting, but we were kept informed and always knew what to expect. I especially appreciated Andrew’s attention to detail, including making several key project suggestions that improved on the final scope of our project (such as adding the pocket door and centering the window) and Warren’s spot-checks throughout the process. The entire Hawley team, including Lalo and Manuel and their sub contractors, were competent professionals and clearly took pride in doing good work. We’ve had an opportunity to use the bathroom for a few months now, and the delight of this gorgeous remodel has not worn off yet. Not only is it efficient and practical as designed, but as the season changes and the sun lowers in the sky, the visual delight of the morning light entering through the new larger window bathing the space in warmth and serenity gives me daily cause for pause to appreciate the space and always puts a smile on my face. We were impressed with time and attention to details on our backyard renovations.  This entailed building a deck adjacent to our pool. We also had a concrete walk and low retaining wall beside our 50ft lap pool to contain an existing raised bed.  Additionally, a small retaining wall extended using Trex composite that matched the adjacent deck was built to contain the raised bed that contained a very mature redwood tree.  The project required considerable consultations with Warren and his team.  We were impressed with professionalism and work ethic. most communication was done by email, which I prefer.  After some emailing back and forth, we settled on a date for Warren to stop by and look at my wiring and what needed to be done.  Then he gave me an estimate, etc.  I bought the fan based on the measurements and features that he recommended.  His team installed it while I was at work.  There was slight damage to my ceiling because of a misstep in the attic; Warren was professional about that and sent someone out the next day to repair it and repaint.    The fan looks excellent.

I had just moved to Sacramento and had interviewed several local contractors to help remodel a dated condo. I was so pleased to have found Hawley & Sons.  The owner Warren came by, did the assessment of the work I needed done and got a quote to me timely. He's done several jobs for me including installation of ceiling lights and fans, replacing an old tub with a beautiful walk in shower and electrical work to install a new washer and dryer.  His crew shows up on time ready to work. They take care to make sure my furniture and floors are protected and leave the area spotless when they're finished. I can't say enough good things about this company, the man that owns it or the amazing talented men that work with him. Hawley and sons provided excellent service throughout the entire project. Worked well with the architects who made a few small errors in he planning process. I can't speak to Hawley & Sons' price range, as Warren Hawley flat out refused to let me pay him for the hour of work he did fixing two poorly hung doors in our new house. But I can say he did a fantastic job very quickly, and was thorough and transparent as well. Our back door was hung crooked, and so it was difficult to open and close and wouldn't lock at all. He tightened a few screws and carved out a new hole in the frame for the lock to go in. He was very upfront, explained that this is more a bandaid solution than anything, and told us a permanent fix would involve pulling off the trim and rehanging the door entirely, which would cost $300-500 depending on whether or not the door itself needed replacing (which is significantly cheaper than the $750 estimate given me by another handyman for rehanging the man-door in the garage - essentially the same job). My mother's bedroom door simply wouldn't stay closed, something wrong with the latch. He fixed that one in about two minutes. Since he did such a great job so quickly, I went ahead and asked him about a couple other projects I'm looking into (knocking down a wall in the kitchen, installing a sliding glass door in the guest room), and he gave us clear concise information and some good ballpark estimates. Warren was professional, thorough, and very kind - again, he patiently refused to take any payment from me. I would highly recommend Hawley and Sons for any projects around the home, and I'll definitely be calling Warren again when we're ready to move forward on our next project.

On the day the jobs were to be done, Mr. Hawley again arrived right on time, was friendly and professional, and did a fine job with the repairs. It went very well with Warren. He was always polite and delivered what he said he would. Contractors are HORRIBLE at communicating or being on time or delivering on time. We never had a problem with Warren. The men he contracted out to were similarly professional. They cleaned up after themselves and cared. They gave us excellent service. We had to pay $50 for an additional hour. The price was reasonable compared to what other people charge in our area. They made appointments with and kept them on time. I just moved to the state and was overwhelmed with a garage full of packing boxes in no particular order.. When I called and said what I needed, they called back in only a few hours. The next day a hard working, very pleasant man showed up and organized the garage so I would know where to look for the things I need. It had been almost 20 years since the last exterior painting of our home. Dry rot was an issue in beams, on siding and trim. One exterior door also required replacement. We received multiple bids and chose Hawley & Sons based on recommendations of friends and observing that Warren Hawley was easily the most organized and detailed in preparing his bid. We also understood add-on repairs were a virtual certainty during the job. Hawley & Sons was not the cheapest bid but considering the quality of work, professionalism, daily organization, overall timeliness and fair billing for add-on work, I do not hesitate to recommend them. most communication was done by email, which I prefer.  After some emailing back and forth, we settled on a date for Warren to stop by and look at my wiring and what needed to be done.  Then he gave me an estimate, etc.  I bought the fan based on the measurements and features that he recommended.  His team installed it while I was at work.  There was slight damage to my ceiling because of a misstep in the attic; Warren was professional about that and sent someone out the next day to repair it and repaint.    The fan looks excellent.

Warren jumped right in to not only assist us with services, but with guidance as well. His team, with included the fantastic Guillermo, quickly went to work on our structural issues and pushed us in the right direction in getting into our home. I am so very satisfied with my repair job from Hawley & Sons. I called them yesterday looking for someone to come & fix my side wooden gate, which was coming apart because of the rain. They had a good rating on Angie's list, so that's why I called them. I talked to Warren & he was very polite & said he could come out the next day & look at my gate. Sure enough, He called this morning & came out promptly. He did a beautiful job of strengthening all the boards and making it look like new. And he was so polite, I really enjoyed talking with him as well. I am so impressed with his work, that if I ever need a Handyman in the future, he is the one I will call and give references to my friends, as well. His price was very reasonable, as well. This company is awesome! I needed to do some remodel work on my stucco home. Each individual arrived on time, did very nice work and cleaned up after themselves. After an accident on our country highway sent a truck through our rail fence and into our front yard, Hawley and Sons provided excellent & timely service. Warren provided a detailed estimate to send the insurance company, and work was scheduled quickly after the estimate was approved. The fence was repaired and painted to match, a damaged sprinkler was replaced, and deep, muddy ruts were filled & graded. The work was all of a very high quality. I contacted this provider to set up an appointment to get an estimate for repair work to be done on my rental property. I called two weeks in advance of the date I wanted to set a time. I live out of state and was making this trip specifically to meet with contractors and to get bids. I had to call the company twice - they never returned my first message. He was pleasant, however did not want to make an appointment. Instead, he asked me to send him photos of the work that needs to be done. Mr. Hawley was very professional. He even called to let me know his ETA. He picked up the materials needed to replace the particle board under my kitchen sink which was damaged by a leaking garbage disposal. While replacing the particle board, Mr. Hawley noticed a leak in one of the pipes under the sink. He fixed the problem. I was very satified with the work Mr. Hawley performed.
