Found these guys off of Angie's list a few weeks back after talking to hubby about a bunch of renovations we needs done.. I went ahead and bought the deal for $545 a handyman for 8 hours (or 2 handyman for 4 hours is how it worked out).. Hubby called them up and told them what he needed done to the place and set an appointment up this was done July 24th.. Hubby went ahead and purchased everything needed for all the renovation projects around the house ahead of time just so it would be ready for them, when time comes.. Fast forward it's now August 5th.. Hubby called them that afternoon to ensure that they were coming the next morning.. August 6th Warren the owner showed up with another worker (believe his name is Joe, forgive me if you're reading this ) at 8am sharp.. Hubby told them he had a few things he wanted done but what was important to him was knocking down a wall to open up a room and removing & installing a new sink.. So Warren walked the house and reviewed everything that needed to be done.. Warren and Joe started on the wall first.. They were really respectful of our home and kept it clean as possible while doing the work.. They laid down tarp on the floor so when they knocked down the wall it would be easy for clean up.. Warren start the wall but delegated to Joe to do the rest, while he went to start on the kitchen sink (There were a few small issues with the sink removal but he found ways around it and successfully got it done.. Warren needed a few supplies to install the new sink, piping and garbage/ food dispenser, so he told hubby what he needed and left with him to go get the supplies.. Wall was down by 11am (very fast!) so now Joe started clean up.. They were so awesome we wanted to get them lunch so we did.. Small break :) So we had a little time left before the 4 hours were up but hubby talked to him to stay a little longer to finish other things we wanted done and pay him for it.. Warren finished the sink, installed all the new parts, and caulked the sink.. Since wall was done he needed to bring someone else in to blast the wall and get it smooth before matching it with the rest of our ceiling.. His third worker Juan came just after lunch and looked at what needed to be done, first thing first he laid down tarp on the floor before starting his work, then he went onto smoothing out around where the wall use to be.. We had a removal of a wall, fixing the void where the old wall was, old sink removed & replaced (piping and garbage/ food dispenser), a old vanity, removal of a cabinet bolted to the wall, cutting the bottom of a fence so that it would open smoother, fixing a closet door that's fell off a railing, a removal of a old stove vent fan & install a new one in and a new ceiling fan installed.. Warren asked us if we had anything else we wanted done but then he and his crew did everything we needed done and so much more.. Warren and his crew are a god send to us, all the work was done beautifully and in a fast pace manner.. He's super nice, polite,easy to talk to and will give you advice where you need it.. After everything was done he took all the old stuff we didn't need away and disposed it for us.. The Hawley family has been in the construction & remodel business for over 30 years.. The more awesome thing about them is they are a humble company who give back to the less fortunate.. Whether they're providing the means of feeding the homeless, helping the elderly with home repairs here at home or building hospitals in Africa they have helped the benefit of others worldwide.. They're not just content in building their business they know they must reach out and give back when needed.. One of the most easiest company's to deal with.. I've dealt with many contractors in the past and a lot of them either half ass their work, slack off, or avoid you period but you'll get none of that here.. They just don't stop moving, they keep move like the energizer bunny.. :p I Love these guys their super awesome, I truly recommend them to anyone and everyone who needs any work done small or big, these guys will get it done in a fast, respectable timely manner and will have open communication with you from beginning to end.. They're such hard workers with huge hearts.. Nothing but the utter most respect for this company, if I could give them a 10 stars I would.. I was truly blessed with Warren Hawley and Sons and would highly recommend them to any one for framing or ground up projects as they handle all aspects of quality home building. From our first contact to obtain a quote to the final touch-up work, it was a pleasure working with Rick Hawley. Everyone was responsive, on-time (or called if they were delayed) and patiently answered all of our questions. They were extremely careful while in our home and very, very accommodating. They paid attention to the details of the job and made an extra effort to assure we were satisfied. We are pleased with their work and so happy we chose Hawley. 2nd time I've used Hawley and Son's Construction in the last 45 days for work around the house and their work on this job was similar to the first job. On time, professional, competitive and discussed options and pointed out several items I would have missed. Owner Warren Hawley is on top of all aspects of the job and noticed some rot that must have gotten behind the window and down into the outside panel at the end of the day when his crew was done and he had a walk through inspection. I have never had a handyman clean up after himself like Warren's team did. They even brought windex to wash the mirrors when they were hung. The quality of the work was excellent, and there was no mess left behind. All packaging was taken away and all dust, debris, etc. were cleaned up. You could not tell that there was anyone in the house after they left! I have scheduled them for a return trip as we have the new fireplace. If you need handyman services this is the company to use. They gave us excellent service. We had to pay $50 for an additional hour. The price was reasonable compared to what other people charge in our area. They made appointments with and kept them on time. Warren jumped right in to not only assist us with services, but with guidance as well. His team, with included the fantastic Guillermo, quickly went to work on our structural issues and pushed us in the right direction in getting into our home. Not pleased at all.  Initial contact after purchase of a special $125 for 2 hours of handyman work requested 3 different days and times that the services could be provided that would work in my schedule. Offered another day that I didn't choose,  but made it work. Asked what I would like done and was very clear about what was needed in writing. Once the day and time were set was asked to change the time to 5 hours later, changed my plans again to accommodate their schedule. Did give me 4 days advance warning of schedule change. On the day the work was to be done they were running late and asked again what I would like done and I reminded them. They had to stop on the way to the house to get supplies but didn't get all that was needed. I was charged for the time they shopped for the items and once they came to the house, there was very little they could do so they replaced a tub spout and then said they'd have to come back but they could spend a few minutes doing any other jobs I might need. So I had them tighten up loose doorknobs and asked for some bathroom fixtures to be tightened, they did one but not the other. We then started negotiations for how much more I would need to spend to get the work done I had originally requested. Was told it would be $200 more (which was for replacement equipment), plus another fee for the truck to come back, plus an additional $55/hour for the work. They generously offered to honor one hour of the original price, making sure they knew I was getting a deal from their original price of $65/hour. I still needed the work done so I reluctantly set up another appointment, for later the next month. I made arrangements in my calendar to be home when the appointment was set up three weeks in advance. Found out 4 days before the appointment that this would no longer work in their schedule as they had an important appointment and would be unavailable until at least 4 hours after the time scheduled. To me as a customer I had rearranged my schedule to make sure I was home again, and found later that it was a family conflict that kept them from being able to keep the original time. I understand family commitments and would have appreciated knowing that it was a family issue and not "an important appointment" that caused the cancellation of my appointment. I was made to believe there was another job that trumped mine.   So I asked for a refund of the hour I was still owed and was reminded that I still owed them $25 for the tub spout. I will be getting a credit of $30 and all I got for my $125 investment was a new tub spout and the opportunity to discover a company that I could never recommend.

I found Hawley & Sons by doing some research on Angie's List. Based on previous reviews and proximity to my home, I made an inquiry about handyman services. Mr. Hawley responded to my inquiry promptly. Via Angie's List messages, we scheduled an appointment for an estimate of the work I wanted done. Mr. Hawley arrived exactly on time, was friendly and professional, and his price was right; so we scheduled the work. On the day the jobs were to be done, Mr. Hawley again arrived right on time, was friendly and professional, and did a fine job with the repairs. Mr. Hawley was very professional. He even called to let me know his ETA. He picked up the materials needed to replace the particle board under my kitchen sink which was damaged by a leaking garbage disposal. While replacing the particle board, Mr. Hawley noticed a leak in one of the pipes under the sink. He fixed the problem. I was very satified with the work Mr. Hawley performed. Warren Hawley came out and gave an acceptable estimate. Started project on date promised. Project needed additional materials that I approved. Overall the repairs made were better than I expected it to come out in the end and better then new due to some redesigns that Warren made on the spot and will now allow water to shed off the faux window instead of sitting and seeping behind the wood. Great job and will hire these guys again in the near future to do some more projects around my home. Don't be confused by the "handyman" label they are really construction professionals.

The crew that did the work appeared competent, but I like how the owner, Warren, doubled checked his guys' work. Warren did not like how they rigged the ducting in the attic and redid it himself before calling the job complete. Warren could have left things the way they were and I would not have known any better. Because I had to run to the hardware store for a few items for the crew, Warren reduced the price by what I had to purchase, plus my mileage. Very fair business owner!

There was one problem. For some reason one of the doors on the cabinets didn't close properly and there was a little bit of a gap there. He told me if there was anything wrong that he would come back and fix it but he never really got around to it and I had put the house on the market and it sold within a few weeks, so there was no point to him coming back after that. I am extremely happy with my new shower.  The original tub/shower combo was difficult to use and I felt unsafe getting in and out of it.  I wanted a fully accessible shower that I could feel safe using and that's exactly what I got! The new shower is easy to use.  It has safety bars so I feel confident getting in and out of it.  The shower walls are easy to clean and seem to be mold resistant.  I used to dread using the old shower and worried that I would fall.  Now I can enjoy my new shower because I feel safe using it. I really appreciate the quality of the job that Manuel and Lalo did removing the old tub/shower and installing the new shower.  They arrived on time and did the work planned for the day.  They did a great job! Walter painted the new shower area and it looks better than I hoped it would!  Great job Walter! The Project manager, Andrew Aguilar, kept me well informed about the project and what was planned for the next day.  He estimated that it would take two weeks to complete the shower conversion and met that target.  In fact, the only item that delayed the project was the building inspector reviewing the plan and approving the permit.  I really appreciate him keeping the project on time and within the budget! It went terribly.  I purchased an 8 hour deal for $545 her at Angie's List.  I had never had any contact with the provider before.  I was told that I would be contacted within 2 days and was not.  The email correspondance was poor.  I had to complain to Angie's List that no one was following up with my emails.  Then my email was finally returned.  Warren was certainly not the friendliest, but the smaller projects were done first OK.  He did not want to do work on putting my new basketball hoop to replace the broken old one in the heat, so we resecheduled.  His assistant did most of the work trying to put up the old hoop, and had a lot of trouble doing it.  He could not figure it out.  I was helping him lift it up his ladder trying to attach it while he was on the roof, but he could not get it to work.  Toward the end, the ladder gave out under me and I fell.  Fortuneatly, I grabbed onto my rain gutter, so I did not get hurt.  He finally put the backboard and rim together, and then waited for Warrent to return to put it up.  The frame on the roof for the backboard was already there, excepty for two new 2x4s to raise the height a few inches.  He then started to put it in 3 inches too high, when basketball hoops are, of course, at 10 feet..  I don't know how a professional can miss by that much.  Anyway, the orignal backboard and hoop that was put up took the previousl handyman I used (who I wish was available for this) took less than 2 hours, including creating the entire frame.  Warren and his assistant took well over 5 hours to put it up, incuding 2 extra hours over the 8 I already paid.  Which means, I'm supposed to pay them an extra $130.  So the installation cost much more than the hoop and backboard itself.  Needless to say, I was very upset when I got the bill. First of all, why does it take a professional 5 hours to put up a basketball hoop onto an already existing frame, except for a small adjestment.  Besides, his assistant, who was perfectly nice, did not know what he was doing.  He could not figure it out, which of course, ate up a lot of time, in addition to installing it way too high first.  I tried calling the company to talk about this, and see if something could be worked out.  I spoke to Warren, who was extremely rude and condescending.  I suppose I will have to pay the bill, but I am very angry about it.  I will never use this company again, nor do I recommend anyone use them ever.  This was very dishonest.  And I will let everyone I know never to use them.

I had a house siding project that was long over do. I called more than five contractors/handymen to do the job. Hawley and Sons were the only ones that would help me out. They promptly returned my call and got me on their schedule. H & S did a great job. Their workers put a lot of care into the project. Professional, courteous and fair. I contacted this provider to set up an appointment to get an estimate for repair work to be done on my rental property. I called two weeks in advance of the date I wanted to set a time. I live out of state and was making this trip specifically to meet with contractors and to get bids. I had to call the company twice - they never returned my first message. He was pleasant, however did not want to make an appointment. Instead, he asked me to send him photos of the work that needs to be done. This does not work for me and is unprofessional. I paid them extra because the work took longer than the 1 hour of the Big Deal. They put together a bookshelf and a desk. I had the wrong pieces so they had to go back to the store, return what I bought and get the right pieces. Then they came back and put it together. Then he switched out one of my light fixtures. Then he fixed my dog run gates.  I liked that he went and did the work for me. Most places would say, well, I can't finish the job because I didn't have the right equipment. Hawley and sons provided excellent service throughout the entire project. Worked well with the architects who made a few small errors in he planning process. I needed my sliding doors on my closet repaired and my bathroom towel rack and closet shelf installed.  When I came home, he had fixed my closet door but the main door in the master bedroom was not fixed and was still broken, the towel rack had been installed twelve inches from the place that I had specified. I let the service provider know that I was unhappy with the service and he didn't fix what I had hired him to fix.  We communicated back and forth and he kept saying that he had made all of the necessary repairs even though it is still broken.

most communication was done by email, which I prefer.  After some emailing back and forth, we settled on a date for Warren to stop by and look at my wiring and what needed to be done.  Then he gave me an estimate, etc.  I bought the fan based on the measurements and features that he recommended.  His team installed it while I was at work.  There was slight damage to my ceiling because of a misstep in the attic; Warren was professional about that and sent someone out the next day to repair it and repaint.    The fan looks excellent.

As a interior designer it is appreciated when you find someone who does Quality work . I worked with Warren today at a clients home . He was great to work with. He was patient with me as he hung the chandelier , add 1 no 2 more links to the chain, woops make that 1 again. That was just one of the projects. He was mindful of the wood floors and kept them protect. He cleaned up after every thing was finished. He shared with me pictures of some of the work he has done ,and I was impressed . Warren really knows his stuff and I would easily hire him again. Especially for those tasks that require some specialized knowledge. Coming from a building background, I knew that the installation of our dog door was going to be a bit tricky and I did not have all the necessary tools to accomplish the job on my own. This was not one of those easy through the door dog doors - done some of those in the past. I felt the bid was very fair and I liked the fact that Warren, from the get go, gave me the feeling that he was the right person for the job. Everything went as I had hoped. Thank you Warren and Joe. I am so very satisfied with my repair job from Hawley & Sons.  I called them yesterday looking for someone to come & fix my side wooden gate, which was coming apart because of the rain.  They had a good rating on Angie's list, so that's why I called them. I talked to Warren & he was very polite & said he could come out the next day & look at my gate.  Sure enough, He called this morning & came out promptly.  He did a beautiful job of strengthening all the boards and making it look like new.  And he was so polite, I really enjoyed talking with him as well.  I am so impressed with his work, that if I ever need a Handyman in the future,  he is the one I will call and give references to my friends, as well.   His price was very reasonable, as well. Top Quality Performance Superior work in every respect. We are delighted with the results of the Master Bathroom remodel, and Master Bedroom new floor project just completed. Converting an early 80's builder grade to premium was the task and they achieved it through quality workmanship and process.  From the bidding to the contract, on to the project design and in to construction. Direct employees and subcontractors alike were all pros and a pleasure to work with at each stage of the work. Recommendations they made for vendors for us to select fixtures were superior, with great customer service. Project management was detailed, timely and attentive. Every subcontractor was absolutely professional.  Ownership involvement was always evident assuring results. A particular shout out Brennan Tile for their recommendation, and most particularly for superlative workmanship. It was a pleasure working with every one of these crew members. Unforeseen: fireplace rattling/resonating when home theater is in use. Warren modified fireplace (added brackets, dampening materials, etc.) to make sure it doesn't make any noise. To say the least: that was not easy! Exceptionally good with masking/protecting the room, our kitchen and family room share same space, kitchen had no dust whatsoever! It went very well with Warren. He was always polite and delivered what he said he would. Contractors are HORRIBLE at communicating or being on time or delivering on time. We never had a problem with Warren. The men he contracted out to were similarly professional. They cleaned up after themselves and cared. We were impressed with time and attention to details on our backyard renovations.  This entailed building a deck adjacent to our pool. We also had a concrete walk and low retaining wall beside our 50ft lap pool to contain an existing raised bed.  Additionally, a small retaining wall extended using Trex composite that matched the adjacent deck was built to contain the raised bed that contained a very mature redwood tree.  The project required considerable consultations with Warren and his team.  We were impressed with professionalism and work ethic. Mr. Hawley was very professional. He even called to let me know his ETA. He picked up the materials needed to replace the particle board under my kitchen sink which was damaged by a leaking garbage disposal. While replacing the particle board, Mr. Hawley noticed a leak in one of the pipes under the sink. He fixed the problem. I was very satified with the work Mr. Hawley performed. I wish all my experiences with contractors were this easy and great. I sent a list of items that I needed done around the house. They told me it would probably take all day. They said I could purchase materials or they could go to home depot and get them that day. I decided to purchase materials ahead of time so I could get as much done as possible. They arrived on time were very professional and did a great job. They were efficient and I was able to add a few more things to my list of repairs at the end of the day. I had just moved to Sacramento and had interviewed several local contractors to help remodel a dated condo. I was so pleased to have found Hawley & Sons.  The owner Warren came by, did the assessment of the work I needed done and got a quote to me timely. He's done several jobs for me including installation of ceiling lights and fans, replacing an old tub with a beautiful walk in shower and electrical work to install a new washer and dryer.  His crew shows up on time ready to work. They take care to make sure my furniture and floors are protected and leave the area spotless when they're finished. I can't say enough good things about this company, the man that owns it or the amazing talented men that work with him. After an accident on our country highway sent a truck through our rail fence and into our front yard, Hawley and Sons provided excellent & timely service. Warren provided a detailed estimate to send the insurance company, and work was scheduled quickly after the estimate was approved. The fence was repaired and painted to match, a damaged sprinkler was replaced, and deep, muddy ruts were filled & graded. The work was all of a very high quality. They were very good. I have nothing but positive things to say about them. The problem it's my rental property and my daughter actually lived in it. It is difficult for her to schedule time so I have to say that we were making it difficult for them to come out and he was very good about it. I mean he worked around our schedule, I have to say he was very good about it. They were very accommodating. I realized that they weren't sitting around with their feet up on the desk smoking cigar and taking coffee wondering when I was going to call them.
